Arrayed along a winding expanse of waterfront, Dubai River Walk Concept Master Plan offers up a kinetic combination of resorts, residential, dining, museums, science/learning centers and extreme sports venues throughout a series of themed, interlocking zones: a Global Zone, Destination Zone, Activity Zone and Learning Zone.
Flowing from the large Fountain Lake at the eastern end of the project, river currents guide residents and visitors along secluded paths and over bustling public promenades, linking River Walk’s districts together. The Global Zone at the center of the project includes a collection of World Resorts, culturally themed residential communities; World Gardens, with bird sanctuary and botanical exhibits; and Festival Promenade, a tree-shaded, café-lined boulevard. The 500-meter Ionosphere Tower soars above the water-themed Destination Zone that includes Planet Blue, a spherical lakeside structure offering dining, entertainment and retail options. At 300 meters in diameter, Planet Blue is designed to be the largest structure of its kind in the world. The Activity Zone lets guests experience mountaineering, mountain biking, water rides, rafting, skateboarding, in-line skating, snowboarding, a 20-foot wave pool and a themed 18-Hole golf resort. Learning Zone attractions include an IMAX theater, observatory and planetarium, aquarium and Biosphere nature displays. From the cultural flavor of the project’s Urban Villages, to the experiences available throughout, River Walk’s remarkable attractions distinguish the project as a truly unique international destination.
