As we can see in these recently received aerial images for Mall of Istanbul the construction is rapidly moving along in the heart of Istanbul, Turkey. MOI, as the project name has been fondly abbreviated around the DDG studio, is slated to open in the Fall of 2013.
The vision for Mall of Istanbul is explained directly in the name, a unique combination of European and Asian cultures bridged together in this metropolitan area. DDG had the pleasure of working with our client Torunlar Gyo, providing architectural services, signage + graphics, project identification, lighting design and landscape design. Aesthetically and architecturally, MOI is inspired by the layers of culture, design, history, symbols and materials that have evolved over the centuries in this unique Eurasian metropolis.
Careful planning and expertise by DDG’s design team presented the focus for MOI, a dynamic, 13.9 hectare multi-use development that combines vibrant contemporary energy with inspired design. Within the space of more than 5.5 million square feet, the features include distinctive retail, residential and office components, a high-rise hotel, and a 15-screen cinema.
