National Harbor Architect

Borrowing conceptually from Georgetown, Annapolis and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, DDG served in a leading role as National Harbor architect, designing the architecture and master plan for this now iconic vibrant mixed-use project.

A vibrant mixed-use project exuding energy and flair, National Harbor occupies a 240-acre parcel on the banks of the Potomac River south of the recently expanded Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge. The high-end urban density and waterfront orientation of National Harbor’s first phase blends street-level retail, dining and entertainment options with office, hospitality and residential components to create an authentic urban waterfront community.

In our role as National Harbor architect, our charge and ultimate achievment was to create an authentic urban waterfront community—infusing it as an integral part of an energized and developing Washington D.C. community.
