Design Architect National Harbor
DDG was the lead design architect for National Harbor, credited with designing the master plan and design architecture for the vibrant mixed-use project in Prince Georges County, Maryland.
Classically derived and inspired by broad European streets like Barcelona’s Las Ramblas, the avenue, a pedestrian/vehicular boulevard with a central island of kiosks, cafes and bustling pedestrian activity, opens onto a large open waterside plaza. Riverfront marina space features a section of beach and two 700-foot long piers with a canopied pavilion. A graphics/media tower enlivens a beachfront lined with restaurants, cafes, boutique retail options and a waterfront promenade.
The design architecture for the project conveys energy and flair, and blends street-level retail, dining and entertainment options with office, hospitality and residential components to create an authentic urban waterfront community.
At DDG, we our proud of our work and role as design architect for National Harbor (click to view and read more), and we invite you to explore this and more of our work on mixed-use destinations here.
