DDG Receives Major New Investment | Moves Offices Back to City Center

We are happy to announce that our company recently completed a sale of its business assets to a subsidiary of BCT Architects and a group of DDG’s current Principals. The firm’s legal name is now DDG BCT, LLC but we will continue to provide exceptional design services and value to our clients as DDG.

This investment is very exciting news! It brings together two firms with shared values and roots going back to the 1980’s. It also represents the return of former DDG leaders, and a financial backing by BCT that enhances the continuing operations of DDG as a preeminent award-winning international design firm. All the current Principals of DDG – Tony van Vliet, AIA (President), Jim Andreone, Rajesh Gulati, Sa’d Irshaid, and Haris Koentjoro – are being joined by Roy Higgs (one of DDG’s founders), and BCT Principals Bryce Turner, FAIA (Chairman), Bob Gehrman, AIA and Bob Northfield, AIA, each a former DDG leader.

We are pleased that our esteemed company is now even stronger, and we are excited about the growth and opportunities ahead. DDG and BCT will continue to operate as separate sister companies and distinctive brands, while teaming up strategically to grow both companies in the USA and globally. The two firms have worked together in the past on several high-profile projects, including National Harbor, Fairfax Corner and Belvedere Square. BCT are known for their award-winning projects in the USA and their exceptional full-service architecture and engineering solutions. DDG are known for our ability to deliver dynamic, extraordinary solutions for place-making in cities, towns and suburbs all over the world. Together, we have the potential to grow into a global architecture and design leader that can deliver inspiring developments that resonate with their communities, promote healthy social interaction, and represent the latest in technology, security and sustainability.

In conjunction with the investment, DDG has moved its headquarters offices from Baltimore’s Canton district over to the premier Mies van der Rohe building in the center of the City, reflecting our commitment to walkable communities, innovative urban design, and the retail driven place-making of highly livable environments for which our work is known. Our new offices are located in One Charles Center at 100 North Charles Street, returning just two blocks north of DDG’s first offices.

DDG’s value is in our talented, experienced and passionate interdisciplinary design team; in-depth understanding of commercial development; in the trust and loyalty built with longtime clients both internationally and in the US; and in the esteemed brand established within the global marketplace. All of these values are strengthened by this investment and collaboration with BCT.

This is the start of a bright new era at DDG and we can’t wait for what’s ahead!
