Construction is underway on Anatolium Marmara, DDG’s latest project in Turkey.
Anatolium Marmara is situated in the heart of Istanbul east of the Bosphorus strait on the Asian side of Turkey. It is a mixed-use project combining office, retail, dining and lifestyle situated above Istanbul’s newest subway line and accessible linkage to the upcoming third ring road in the metropolitan region. The project will feature an expansive, four-story IKEA as an anchor and the Kartal District’s tallest corporate tower, rising 47 floors above the horizon to offer sweeping, panoramic views of the Sea of Marmara.
Upscale urban retail will curve around the office building combining a vibrant outdoor entertainment and commercial center with a chic interior mall. The mall itself will feature global brands and upscale boutiques, fine dining restaurants and casual cafes, all of which overlook gardens, parks, and piazzas that will offer seasonal music events, art fairs, farmer’s markets, and flower festivals.
Balancing the site’s compelling, contemporary fusion will be the highly-customized IKEA anchor, a state-of-the-art, 8 screen stadium-seating Cineplex, and a specialty children’s entertainment zone.
A focus on sustainability and a respect for its natural hillside location are at the core of our design for Anatolium Marmara. The site’s innovative systems and planning include drastically-reduced energy and water consumption, green roofs that connect to sky gardens, rooftop solar arrays, and thermally upgraded interiors. And while there is easy access to the area’s other businesses, medical facilities, courthouse, and research hospital, site lines are traffic-free as parking is hidden away in ample, underground lots.
