The Al Areen master plan re-imagines the main boulevard with a town center marketplace at its heart, creating a vibrant mixed-use downtown with an intimate scale, intuitive connections, thematic cohesion, enhanced pedestrian and vehicular flow, and efficient parking facilities. The boulevard has residential apartments and offices above street level retail shops. The boulevard, with its central median, is sized to facilitate pedestrian cross-shopping, while retaining accessible on-grade parking. Closely spaced buildings and abundant water features and plantings foster an intimate, cohesive and activated environment. The town center intersects the main boulevard. A large green space suitable for celebrations is focused around an interactive water feature. Café’s and one-of-a-kind shops provide a sense of place.
