Puerto Santa Ana
Guayaquil, Ecuador
The first phase of a larger effort to revitalize and transform the waterfront at the base of Cerro Santa Ana, Puerto Santa Ana evokes comparisons to the vibrant Puerto Madero in Argentina and the coastal Mediterranean ambience of St. Tropez. Built on an old factory site along the banks of the Rio Guayas, Puerto Santa Ana incorporates renovated warehouses and original industrial buildings into the master plan, combining the area’s newly revitalized Bohemian feel with an enterprise and energy that recalls Ocean Drive in South Beach, Florida. Galleries, studios, and over 7,000 square meters of cafes, restaurants and street-level retail options line the brick- and cobble-paved avenue along the water, and 142 residential loft units complement approximately 700 square meters of office space.
