Beachside Aruba
Aruba, Dutch Caribbean
Part of a larger master-planned resort community, Beachside Aruba is a design for a themed retail and entertainment resort village along Palm Beach on the island's Caribbean coast. The architecture reveals strong Moorish and Moroccan influences, with its domes, arches, and whitewashed concrete walls designed to create a stark and striking contrast with the blue water of the sea. The three-level complex wraps around a central courtyard plaza marked by a saltwater pool to be filled with moray eels, manta rays, and other exotic tropical fish. Its "U" shape protects beach-goers from Aruba's notoriously strong easterly winds.
