Saint America Dalian, China
The signage developed for St. America, a residential community, helps revitalize the property and reflects the project's location along the rocky cliffs of the Yellow Sea. While the previous items on the property had deteriorated due to the salt laden air, the new signage embraces this environment and calls attention to it's positioning by working with weathering steel as a primary material. Reminiscent of sculptures often found in communities along the sea the signage metal gains an attractive patina that helps protect the material. Silhouettes of plants found on the property are also used to set a calm tone for the neighborhood and suggest a close connection to nature.
